The mission of the China Care Foundation is to give special needs Chinese orphans the opportunity for a better life and to empower youth through direct humanitarian service. By providing extensive medical, social and educational programs devoted to children, China Care makes a lasting contribution to our shared future.
Our dinner will be hosted on April 14 from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Student Success Center Press Room B.
GT TASA and GT China Care have come together to fundraise for a China Care orphan named TianLei. TianLei is a boy who was born in the northern part of China with Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida is a congenial disorder caused by the incomplete closing of the embryonic neural tube (the embryo’s precursor to the central nervous system). Some vertebrae overlying the spinal cord are not fully formed and remain unfused and open. To prevent further damage of his nervous tissue and to prevent infection, pediatric neurosurgeons operate to put the spinal cord and its nerve roots back inside the spine and close the opening on TianLei’s back.
Please help us give TianLei the chance he deserves to live a healthy life!
