Spring 2012 Desserts’ Night!!

Want some sweets? why don’t you come out to TASA’s Desserts’ Night! We’ll be serving kinds of Taiwanese yummy desserts including fried ice cream, mochi, and tang yuan soup!! Yes you read it and I know you want to be there. We will teach you how to make them, you can make your own, or you can just chill and the officers will make em’ for you! Don’t miss it! $3 for guests and FREE for our sweet members. P.S. to join us, membership fee is only $20 and you get free entrance to ALL our events throughout the year!

Dead Week Hot Pot Night

November 17th, 2011

On December 6th from 7-10pm this dead week, we’re hosting our annual hot pot night during dead week. Take a break from studying and come eat some delicious food with your friends! We’ll be having fish balls, pork balls, and a variety of vegetables, so there are options for everyone!

This event will be free for TASA members and $3 for non-members. We’ll be handing out our member T-shirts as well, so join TASA and get a cool shirt and entry into the rest of our events for the year!

Restaurant Outing 11/16/11

Restaurant Outing is traditionally a very fun event brought to you by TASA. Each year we bring our members to a off campus Taiwanese restaurant to enjoy great authentic Taiwanese food and to interact with student from another organization. The price of the this outing per person is originally 10 dollars per person for 6 entrees and 1 dessert, but TASA will be subsidizing 5 dollars for you, so you just have to pay 5! This year TASA will bring you to Kan Pai restaurant. We will be joined by the Japanese Student Association and possibly the Emory TASA! Please come out and join us so you can enjoy the yummy food and meet new people.

Price: $5(for members) / $10(for everyone else)

2011 Taste of Taiwan

Hi all!

Here’s out biggest annual event “Taste of Taiwan”, held by both Emory and Georgia Tech Taiwanese America Student Association.

Please come out and enjoy a night of performances and delicious foods prepared us located at the Chinese Cultural Center.  We are serving many different courses of Taiwanese cuisines along with delicious dishes, drinks, and deserts provided by our sponsors.

We will games and performances throughout the night, by Emory Chinese Dance, Band Absolute, TSG Drums, Atlanta Chinese Dance Company, Chinese Yo-yo, Dr. Larry Schulz, Victor Mua, and more! In addition to all of these, there will also be an appearance by the ATLANTA FALCONS CHEERLEADERS where you can get autographs, pictures, and their yearly calendar.

This event will be free for college students and $3 for anyone without a student ID.  Come out and bring all your friends and families!!!

Dumpling Night

October 3rd, 2011

Hey everybody!

We hope you all enjoyed mid-autumn festival. We have another annual event coming up tomorrow 10/4 from 7-9 pm! Dumpling night is a fun event where you learn to make your own dumplings and then get to eat them! We’re doing this event in collaboration with I-house, so it’ll be a chance to meet students from all over the world at the same time as learning more about Taiwanese culture. The event will be free for TASA members and I-house residents and $3 for guests. As always, you can join TASA for $20 at any of our events.

Hi all,

Thanks to those who showed up at our Fall 2011 General Meeting, hopefully you liked our music, bubble tea, fried chicken, ice breaker games, and friendly officers.  If you missed it, it’s ok, here are more events coming up!

To join TASA member ship fee is $20 dollars, you have free access to all our events and food, and you also get a free TASA shirt!! Everyone is welcomed and you can join at anytime soon! Hurry up grab your friends and become part of the family!! :)

Mid-Autumn Festival

2011 Night Market, Exec Elections, and More!

April 2nd, 2011

Hey members! Heyy~

Our executive elections are coming up next week! The elections will take place in the Instructional Center 111 on Wednesday, April 6. Only members will be allowed to vote, but anyone is free to attend and to show support for the candidates!

Night Market 2011 will be next Friday, April 8 at the Goizueta Business School at Emory Univeristy. This is our largest event of the semester so please make plans to attend! Also be sure to bring cash! Tickets will be $.50 each and can be used to buy various food items or to play games!

Finally, Tuesday, April 12 will be our mixer with various cultural organizations — Island Night! Stay tuned for more details on both Island Night and our annual Dead Week Barbecue.

It’s that time of the year again! TASA brings forth the vibrant atmosphere of the outdoor marketplace populated by booths with many different foods and games.
Tickets/vouchers will be available at the door and can be exchanged for food or prizes at each booth! There will also be games you can play for free!
There will be free parking available at the Fisburne Parking Deck.

Dress to impress or show off your cultural attire when you come out and learn about the cultures of the many island cultures found at Georgia Tech!

Each organization will provide samples of a non-alcoholic specialty drink unique to its own culture. Enjoy some cool refreshments as the weather gets warmer while meeting new people from other organizations!

TASA’s Got Talent!

… at fundraising?! Be a part of the studio audience for America’s Got Talent, hosted by Nick Cannon with judges Howie Mandel, Sharon Osborne, and Piers Morgan! The show will be taping on April 12th, 13th, and 14th. Arrival time is 12:30PM and filming will continue until 5:30PM at the Fox Theatre. If you are interested or able to participate, please let President Lynn Tsai (wtsai8@gatech.edu) know! Help TASA fundraise with this unique opportunity!!

Relay for Life

Do you like staying up late and hanging out with friends? Do you like doing things for a good cause? Do you want to help fight cancer? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should sign up for TASA’s Relay for Life team! All you have to do is register online here and pay $10 to sign up (it goes to the total amount you raise)! You can work with other participating members or fundraise on your own. And the best part? The member who raises the most money will win an iPod.

You have until Friday, April 15th, 2011 to raise as much money as you can so register today! Click on “Join Our Team” when you register!

Japan Society’s 1000 Cranes

In ancient Japanese legend, a crane is said to grant anyone who folds a thousand origami a wish. Help the Japan Society reach their goal of 1000 cranes for the disaster in Japan by dropping by Einstein’s and folding a crane or two! There will also be a donation box available if you would like to make a monetary contribution!
